GP Out Of Hours

GP out of hours is available if you need urgent medical care when your GP surgery is closed.
GP out of hours services are:
from 6.00 pm on week days until your GP surgery opens the next morning
24 hours on Saturday and Sunday
24 hours on public holidays
You should telephone the out of hours service first. The doctor or nurse will assess you and:
give you advice by telephone
decide if you need to see a doctor
refer you to another service
If your condition is life-threatening, for example, a suspected heart attack or stroke, telephone 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance.
Emergency Departments (ED) / A&E
❗ Please remember to Phone First before attending our Emergency Departments at Craigavon / Daisy Hill or the South Tyrone Minor Injuries Unit. ❗
If you have an everyday health condition, you can use the Pharmacy First service to get advice and treatment from a local pharmacist, without waiting for an appointment to see your GP.
There are also alternative healthcare services available HERE.

Over 5 years old - with minor injuries e.g. cuts, sprains, minor burns.

Mental Health Service Emergencies
If you have an urgent concern about the mental health of yourself or someone you know, contact the Mental Health Single Point of Referral Service.

Lifeline Helpline counsellors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to give you help and support, in confidence. Telephone 0808 808 8000.
Social Work Out of Hours Service
If you need social work assistance outside of office hours, telephone 028 9504 9999. Emergency Social Work out of hours are now provided by a new Regional Emergency Social Work Service.
Dental Pain Service
The Emergency Dental Clinic is no longer located at Craigavon Area Hospital. This has been replaced with an urgent dental care service which is based in Armagh Community Hospital and is operational Saturday and Sunday 9.00am – 5.00pm.
If a patient has a dental emergency they are advised to contact the on call dentist for their practice, who will triage them and refer them to the urgent dental service if they meet the criteria.
Even if you are not registered with a dentist, you can access emergency dental care from any local NHS dentist if they have availability.
