1st Caledon Boys’ Brigade would like to thank everyone who supported them at their annual Display last night. Thanks also to all the leaders and boys for their participation & hard work. Another session complete for 1st Caledon, but already looking forward to entering our new session in September.

Bishop Michael Router celebrated Mass for St Patrick's Day in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral Armagh this morning. The 1st Armagh Scout Group and the Murray School of Irish Dancing made it a memorable and colourful occasion. Later in the afternoon he had the great honour of leading out the St Patrick's Day Parade in Armagh along with Dean Shane Foster, Armagh, Dean Sarah Rowland Jones, St. David's Cathedral, Pembrokeshire, Wales and Rev. Giacomo Taffi, Deacon in Armagh Parish.

THE DEEP spiritual connection between Wales and Ireland was celebrated this St Patrick’s Day as Dean Sarah Rowland Jones of St Davids Cathedral presented prints of the icons of St David and St Patrick to Dean Shane Forster of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh (Anglican, Church of Ireland). The Armagh Cathedrals' Partnership held a wonderful evening in the Market Place Theatre, Armagh on 11th March 2025 entitled "A celebration of the life, work and witness of St Patrick". The audience were entertained with high quality musical pieces from St Catherine's College Armagh and the Royal School Armagh. A panel discussion was chaired by the Very Revd Shane Forster & Very Revd Barry Matthews with special guests - Alf McCreary (award-winning author and journalist), Ghilian Campbell (ABC Council Destination Sales Officer) and Sister Mary Rowe (Congregation of the Sacred Heart)

The winner of the Charles Wood Song Competition 2025 Senior Final is Madeleine Perring. The runner-up was Ellie Donald and winner of the Dame Felicity-Lott Song Prize and the the Irish Prize was Peter Thomas O'Reilly.

In the Junior Final, first prize goes to Katharina Beirweiler, second prize and the Charles Wood Song Prize for best performance of a Charles Wood song goes to Sam Britner. Both finals were held today (Sat 8th March) at St Patrick’s Church Of Ireland Cathedral.

There was a tremendous sense of pride for The City of Armagh Northern Ireland Supporters Club last night (6th March), when Chairman Michael Calvert presented the wonderful Colin Bell of the The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust a cheque for £10,000 before the club’s AGM at the The Hole In The Wall Bar Armagh. Congratulations to Richhill WI for securing a generous £17,090 grant from the The National Lottery. The Richhill Women’s Institute (WI) is dedicated to enriching the lives of its members by offering a wide range of activities and initiatives. With a strong membership, the institute has long been a cornerstone of the community, supporting its members and various local groups. Additionally, Richhill WI plays a crucial role as a hub for other community organisations to host meetings and activities.

Scenes from a selection of Armagh Theatre Group productions over the last 25yrs were performed on Saturday 1st March as part of The Market Place Theatre’s 25th Anniversary show ‘Curtain up on 25’. Armagh Theatre Group were the first non-professional drama group on the Market Place Theatre’s auditorium stage with their production of 'The Risen People' by James Plunkett directed by Margery Quinn. Their next MPT performance will be local playwright Byddi Lee's 'Toxic Relationships' in November 2025.
