YFCU AGM & Conference Weekend
The YFCU AGM & Conference Weekend was held in the Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh from the 24th to 26th of April. Members from Collone YFC attended the event and enjoyed a fabulous weekend together celebrating the past year of YFC events.
Member and YFCU Vice-President Karen Walker took part in a 120 mile cycle to the AGM alongside other members of the Presidential Team to raise vital funds for YFCU and Rural Support. A brilliant challenge for two worthy charities. Friday night kicked off the weekend with members attending the ‘Oops… we dressed for the wrong event’ disco which was arranged by Co Tyrone YFC. Collone members coordinated a group costume with members dressing as characters from the minions. A great night was had by all and it set the tone for the rest of the weekend.
Saturday morning saw Linzi Kennedy, James McConnell , Ruth McWhirter and Zara Ratcliffe representing the club in the top 5 of the Club Of The Year Competition where they delivered a presentation on ‘Why Collone YFC should be named club of the year. Unfortunately the club did not win this year however it is a fantastic achievement to make it to the top five and one which is very well deserved after a year of hard work by the club officials, committee and members.
On Saturday afternoon members attended the AGM & Conference. Member Karen Walker was successfully re-elected as YFCU Vice-President, what an achievement for Karen as she ran against 7 other candidates. Karen is an outstanding member who gives her all to all YFCU events and she has the support of Collone YFC as she undertakes another busy year of Presidential Team commitments. The Club would like to wish the newly elected Presidential Team good luck for the incoming year. Congratulations are also in order for Collone YFC PRO Zara Ratcliffe who was named YFCU PRO of the Year, an amazing achievement recognising a year of dedication to developing the clubs social media pages.
