Posters from the Past at Armagh County Museum
Step back in time with our exciting new exhibition, Posters from the Past, showcasing a fascinating collection of nineteenth-century posters recently uncovered in Armagh. These unique documents have undergone expert conservation, ensuring they are preserved for future generations and now vividly bring to life a snapshot of Armagh’s social and economic history from 180 years ago.
Created in 1845 by local printers John McWatters and The Guardian Office, these posters offer a unique window into the past. Both printers worked on English Street, just a stone’s throw from where the posters were discovered last year.
The exhibition will continue at Armagh County Museum until 31st December. Admission is free - come and explore this captivating glimpse of history!
