Mapping Monuments
Running until 31st August, Armagh County Museum is hosting an exhibition exploring the Ordnance Survey’s heritage. It explores the sites and stories created by the mapmakers two centuries ago, looking at their scientific achievements and the landscape they measured and mapped.
In addition to objects from its own collection, the museum was able to include two important surveying instruments from Armagh Observatory’s collection, borrowed especially for the exhibition.
The Mapping Monuments project was coordinated by Queen’s Belfast and delivered by a group of volunteers assisted the Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust.
